Margriet Hermans caricature
Margriet Hermans is a flamboyant Belgian singer, actress, TV presenter, and former politician. She was elected as a member of the Belgian Senate in 2007. After her political career she started singing again.
She is now 68, but she surprisingly WON the Summer Hit Trophy of Radio 2 in Blankenberge LAST MONTH! She also won it 35 years ago.
At the time, Margriet Hermans was a famous, exuberant singer and TV star. She was quite heavy, but she didn't care.
Every summer she presented a TV show 'Margriet Aan Zee' (Margaret by the Sea).
